Repairs

The outdoor door toilets at the Trout Creek crossed were vandalized by unknown persons on the Easter weekend.  The toilet door was torn off, seat destroyed and the whole toilet structure tipped over the bank. Knowing this toilet is used  by bikers, hikers, horse riders and  atv'ers at this location on the TransCanada Trail (KVR rail-bed).   Also this site is near Trout Creek which is  Summerland's water source, something had t be done fast.

Members of Summerland ATV Club on Sat April 30  using their ATVs went down to the site from Crump and winched  the toilet structure over the pit. They then  repaired the door and screwed the structure down to the base. This  toilet is now open for use by all.

Hopefully, this will be of the last vandalism at this site for the summer.

Edgar Kelbert, Trail Maintenance for the Rails and Trails Society also reported numerous rock slides to the necessary persons so the rail bed can be safely used by all.
